Francesca & Abe
How did you meet?
Abe & I met 9 years ago during our college years in Miami. We both went out with our group of friends on a Friday night and ended up in the same place. While I was dancing, Abe tapped me on the shoulder and invited me to dance with him. We felt an immediate connection, and we spent the whole night dancing together.
What did you first think of your partner?
Francesca: I thought he was cute but, young.
Abe: I remember thinking to myself, “Wow, this girl is sexy … and definitely Latina.”
How did you start dating?
Our first attempt was not successful, but 7 years later Abe approached me once again by writing me out of the blue on Facebook. We were both single at the time, and Abe craftily got my attention. The long distance flirting continued for a couple of months until we “randomly” met in New York City. Abe made sure he didn’t screw up this time....haha and took me on a romantic date the rest is history.
How did you know that your partner was the right one for you?
Fran: Their was an immediate connection the second time we met and his bold persistence impressed me during an unforgettable dinner. His bluntness with his feelings and ambition towards starting a relationship with me despite the long distance also helped.
Abe: I remember the feeling I got when I kissed Fran in the middle of New York City. The kind of uncontrollable excitement a child gets and everything else around one fades. The exhilaration I felt waking up the following morning was priceless and felt infinite. However, I was so scared she was going to slip away once we both left NYC.
Three things you love about your partner?
Fran: Sense of humor, ambition, and kindness.
Abe: Sense of humor, genuineness, and passion towards family.

Francesca, how did the proposal happen?
Abe called my dad Billy a month prior to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Once he got the go ahead, he bought a ring and planned a Christmas gift surprise that I would never forget. During a family gift exchange in El Salvador, Abe handed me a “shoe box” with other boxes inside, descending in size until the last one with the ring. As soon as I saw it, Abe got down on one knee in front of my whole family and asked me to marry him.
Name 3 memorable experiences you’ve had together as a couple?
Were are both big foodies, so having the opportunity of visiting Napa and dining at The French Laundry was a beautiful experience for us.
Flying from London to New York, cracking up the whole flight was so much fun.
